Jr Gaels Soccer announce Centre of Excellence partnership with Ottawa South United Soccer Club

Kingston ON - Jr Gaels Soccer (operating as Kingston Clippers Soccer Club) have announced a partnership with Ottawa South United Soccer Club (OSU) to co-brand their new Jr Gaels Soccer Centre of Excellence.

KCSC is excited to expand an already healthy relationship with OSU by formalizing a pathway that guides players towards high performance teams at all levels of play.  Partnering on the co-branded Centre of Excellence (COE) will mutually benefit both Clubs and the players of Kingston. The Centre of Excellence programming and curriculum was developed by OSU’s Technical Director, Paul Harris (UEFA A & ex-Everton Coach) eight years ago, and has gone on to have a tremendous impact within OSU.

“It is very rewarding to see two clubs working together for the betterment of the players and sport.  We have top class coaches and players in our club and city, which OSU has supported over the past 6 years through a proven pathway.  This will now bring even more advantages to the players and coaches in Kingston and the surrounding area. OSU, which is a National Youth Club via Canada Soccer is considered one of Canada’s top ranked youth development clubs. This is a big day for Jr Gaels Soccer!” – Christian Hoefler, Technical Director Jr Gaels Soccer.

The Jr Gaels operate in collaboration with Queen’s University, who has a storied history in athletic success, with many OSU alumni competing for them, alongside a network of over 200 youth graduates competing across North America.

“Being able to support the Jr Gaels through this partnership comes as a very positive next step in our history of working together, and providing an outlet for the talented players in the Kingston area to access opportunities through OSU,” noted Club Sporting Director, Jim Lianos.

Jr Gaels youth player Lilly Goss accelerated rapidly through previous OSU OPDL call up opportunities which lead to a full time signing. Lilly Goss: “I am grateful to the Junior Gaels for introducing me to the OSU organization. Being able to play and train for a club like OSU has been amazing. The coaches and players push me at every single session to be a better player and person. Thanks to OSU I have had opportunities to play against international teams at tournaments in North Carolina and Texas. OSU has also provided me with exposure to provincial scouts, allowing me to be invited to the Ontario Provincial Program for the past three years.”
