Little Clippers (U2-U3) Program

What is Little Clippers?

Little Clippers is the very start of the OSA Grass Roots Program

The Goals of Grass Roots Soccer:

  • To ensure this first experience is fun and enjoyable and revolves around child-friendly soccer. Most of all, it is to have them fall in love with the game.
  • To provide an opportunity for players to use their imaginations, be creative and learn through trial and error. Mistakes are OK.
  • To offer age and stage appropriate development activities appropriate to physical and cognitive stage development.
  • To educate coaches so they will make the soccer experience a challenging, positive and nurturing one for all young players regardless of ability, that leads to Soccer for Life.

How do we do it?

  • Physical Literacy - is acquiring skills and confidence that allows individuals to enjoy a variety of sports and physical activities.
  • Developing Fundamentals - learning skills such as hopping, skipping, running, jumping, balancing, twisting/turning, throwing and stopping are all base-level skills required to enjoy playing and being successful in sports.

What's New This Year

Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback received for our 2018 Little Clippers Summer Season,  the Little Clippers Program will again operate out of the West End Boys and Girls Club on Bath Road in their indoor soccer specific space in 2019.

  • For the convenience of our membership, families will have the option of Tuesday or Thursday nights at one of three start times: 5:30, 6:00 or 6:30.
  • Price of the program is $100.
  • As an added bonus, the Boys and Girls Club will provide supervised play in their state of the art Jungle Gym facility following your soccer session. Over the season, we will also be offering two supervised swims at the Boys and Girls Club pool.
  • All players receive a soccer ball!
  • This year, as well, in response to our past parent exit surveys, we are providing registrants Kingston Clippers T-Shirts, not full uniforms. Hopefully, this will assist families as they prepare their Little Clippers for soccer!
