Girls Ambassador Cup wraps up

By Robby Breadner - Director of Communications, 07/11/17, 5:15PM EDT

An exciting weekend transpired July 8th and 9th, with the Kingston Clippers Soccer Club’s annual Girl's Ambassador Cup Festival and Tournament. The event had116 teams from ages 9 to 18 played at six sites across the city. The weather over all was cooperative, for the 1700+ players across the 12 divisions, with only a few scattered showers on Saturday causing minor game stoppages at some fields.

Congratulations to the Clipper's own Girl's U14 team who were undefeated, winning their division in exciting fashion, allowing only one goal for the entire tournament. The U14 team, coached by Tammy Zelt, and sponsored by Levac Supply, defeated the Richelieu Attak, 3 - nil.

The Clippers’ GU15 Girls Tier 2 made it to the semi-finals losing to Glengarry, as did the GU18 team who lost to Kitchener.
